Open spaces, convenient access to employment centers, office space, shopping, entertainment, and numerous recreational activities are just a few of the reasons why the Western Communities are attracting families and businesses. The median household income is one of the highest in the state, making our area a prime target for retailers. The economic outlook for Wellington and its surrounding area continues to be optimistic. 

Shopping in the Western Communities has never been better! The Mall at Wellington Green opened its doors in October 2001 and currently has over 120 stores, with another 40 to be added in 2002. The mall has provided the area with 2,500 jobs and a multi-million dollar tax base. There are also five shopping centers located throughout Wellington offering the residents a variety of stores and restaurants.
The local economy is also supported by Wellington's Commerce Park, which is made up of multiple businesses. Wellington Regional Medical Center and Palm West Hospital make up the areas health care system generating more than 1,500 jobs. The Sugar Cane industry produces more than 300,000 tons of sugar and exceeds $285 million annually. Wellington holds the majority of the equestrian events at the Palm Beach Polo Club Winter Equestrian Festival. The equestrian industry generates some $200 million annually to our community and approximately 1,500 jobs.
